Influence of methylamphetamine on blood lactic acid following exercise.

چکیده
It has been shown by WVeiss and Laties'> that amphetamines, besides being central stimulants, not only improve physical performance but also a motivation to perform the work better, and more so when fatigue is setting in. Prolonged exercise with the concomitant relative muscular anoxia causes accumulation of lactic acid in blood and tissues because its uptake by liver is slower than its rate of production by the muscle. Since amphetamines delayed fatigue, it looked desirable to study the effect of methylamphetamine on the

The Effects of the Different Frequencies of Whole-Body Vibration after a Strenuous Activity on Blood Lactic Acid
Background. Fatigue has an undesirable effect on the continued exercise performance and decreases athlete's activity. Fast lactic acid disposed is high of importance for athletes. Objectives. Therefore, the present article determines the effects of the different frequencies of whole-body vibration after a strenuous activity on blood lactic acid. Methods. 60 athletes were chosen from sel...
متن کاملThe Effect of Breathing Oxygen-enriched Air during Exercise upon Pulmonary Ventilation and upon the Lactic Acid Content of Blood and Urine.
The marked increase of pulmonary ventilation during exercise is caused primarily by the more rapid formation of carbon dioxide, which causes an increased tension of this gas in the blood and alveolar air. Douglas and Haldane (1) showed that if the exercise were not too strenuous the increase in pulmonary ventilation and the increase in alveolar carbon dioxide tension bore approximately the same...
متن کاملThe Amide Nitrogen of Blood.
Certain chemical changes are known to occur in muscle during, and immediately following, short periods of exercise. With respect to the alteration in the acid-base equilibrium under such conditions, some facts are definitely established. It has been shown by Barr and Himwich (1) that within a few minutes after exercise very considerable, amounts of plasma bicarbonate are neutralized by acid, an...
متن کاملEffects of ribose supplementation on selected metabolic measurements and performance in maximally exercising Thoroughbreds.
The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of ribose supplementation on blood ammonia-N, plasma lactic acid, plasma glucose, volume of oxygen consumption (VO2), heart rate, and performance in Thoroughbred geldings performing a maximal treadmill standardized exercise test (SET). The hypothesis tested was that ribose supplementation would decrease ammonia-N and lactic acid accumul...
متن کاملEffect of Single Session of High Intensity Interval Exercise on Some Immune and Inflammatory Factors in Male Athletes and the Risk of Infection to Coronavirus
Introduction: High Intensity exercise is one of the effective factors on immune and inflammatory factors. The purpose of this study was to determine the single session of high intensity interval exercise (CrossFit) on levels of leukocytes, neutrophils, lymphocytes, monocytes, lactic acid and C- reactive protein (CRP) of male athletes to make decision for doing this exercise in coronavirus preva...
